Windows 10: Moving onedrive from C to E drive

Unable to move one drive from C to E drive. I have followed the steps by step instructions with no results. Any tip will be greatly appreciated.thanksOctavio

You can refer to the following work around. This will help you to choose the folders to sync on Onedrive.

  Right click on OneDrive icon of

Setting Up OneDrive to Auto Backup Folders Not on C:

Thanks for the reply, Son! Unfortunately, that solution doesn't work for my situation.

I tried unlinking OneDrive, moving the OneDrive folder to a new location (I moved it to my E: drive, where the Documents folder I'd like to sync is located), then logging back into OneDrive and selecting that new location for the folder (as you suggested
above).

Once I'd done that and I tried to sync my OneDrive, the screen that lets you choose what to sync (Desktop, Documents, Pictures) popped up with a red error saying that it couldn't sync files on my C: drive because my OneDrive folder was on my E: drive. I
couldn't find any option to sync files on my E: drive instead. It still refuses to let me sync anything that's not on my C: drive.

I really appreciate the help though, Son! If you have other steps to try I'll be happy to give them a shot too. =)

When you set up OneDrive to sync with your computer, a folder C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive will be created to store the contents. XXXX denotes your username. To move this folder to another location follow these simple steps:

1. Unlink OneDrive from your PC:

• Go to the taskbar notification area
• Right-click on the OneDrive icon
• Select settings
• Click: Unlink this PC

2. Delete the C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive folder

3. Create a new folder (target folder) for OneDrive contents, e.g. D:\OneDrive

4. Create Directory Junction for the new folder

• In the search area of the taskbar type CMD and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter
• In the command window type

mklink /J C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive D:\OneDrive

adjusting it to your specific username and selection of the target folder

5. Link again OneDrive to your PC using the OneDrive icon in the taskbar notification area
