Windows 10: Moving the cursor with a touchpad when in a game keeps changing the volume.

The unwanted change in volume usually happens when I try to move the cursor horizontally on the screen with a touchpad, usually towards the left side of the screen, but would occasionally happen when moving vertically as well. This does not occur when I'm clicking and dragging, only when moving the cursor specifically. It also never happens when a game is not open or is in the background. Experiencing this problem on a Yoga Pro 9i running Windows 11.

Change the cursor speed for Precision touchpad

I understand that you want to set the cursor speed value more than 20. The valid range of values for the registry key that you want are trying to change is 0 to 20, with a default value of 10.



Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow
these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

However, to increase the cursor speed you can change the mouse settings in Control Panel. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type control and click on
   OK.
   
3. Select Large icons from the drop down for
   View by.
   
4. Click on Mouse.
   
5. Navigate to Pointer options tab and under
   Motion, move the slider towards right to change the cursor speed.
   
6. Click on Apply and OK.

Touchpad settings keep changing

I am running Windows 10 pm HP Pavilion g6 laptop.

The zoom level keeps changing as I scroll or move the cursor with the touchpad.

I have gone to settings on disabled the 2 finger scrolling on the touchpad and it is fine for a day or two and then it reverts to the default setting and reactivates the 2 finger scrolling.

How do I keep this from reverting?

 

Mouse Cursor Moving Spontaneously

Hey All,

I have an MSI GE72 2QD Apache Pro laptop with Windows 10 64-Bit OS. I use a wireless Logitech M510 mouse.

My problem is that my mouse cursor will move spontaneously at different times and start randomly clicking on things. Super annoying.

Things I have done to try to revert the issue:

• Made sure my drivers for both the touchpad and wireless mouse were fully updated.
• Rolled-back the drivers to see if that would fix the problem.
• Completely uninstalled the drivers and then reinstalled them.
• Disabled the touchpad, which does work, but I don't want to keep it this way.

Since disabling the touchpad is the only thing that seems to work, I am thinking it has something to do with that.

Any suggestions or tips that might resolve this issue?
