Hi,Good Day!!We are having tough time to move to new security baseline version. Earlier we used to have easy comparison of settings, now it is not available. We need to go through each setting. Let us know if there is anyway possible.

Security baseline news for Microsoft Edge version 81

We have reviewed the new settings in version 81 of Microsoft Edge and determined that no new security settings are required. The settings recommended in the version 80 baseline will continue to be the security baseline for version 81! This means we will not be releasing our typical package.

Version 81 of Microsoft Edge adds 15 new computer- and user-based settings. There are now 285 enforceable Computer Configuration policy settings and 269 User Configuration policy settings. Using our streamlined approach, our baseline remains at 12 Group Policy settings. We have attached a spreadsheet with the new settings to make it easier for you to find them.

The version 80 package continues to be available as part of the Security Compliance Toolkit. Like all our baseline packages, this package includes:

Importable GPOs

A script to apply the GPOs to local policy

A script to import the GPOs into Active Directory Group Policy

A spreadsheet documenting all recommended settings in spreadsheet form (minus the version 81 setting that are attached to this blog)

Policy Analyzer rules

GP Reports

Revert Security Baselines

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

You're correct, you will have to create another GPO. But unfortunately, there isn’t a comprehensive list of all settings that aren’t reverted automatically by just disabling the GPO. This is because the behavior can vary depending on the specific setting and how it interacts with the system.

This issue may be beyond the scope of issues that Microsoft Community can address. However, you might also find some insights from community discussions and expert advice on platforms like Microsoft Community Hub. These resources often have threads discussing specific GPO settings and their behaviors: Microsoft Security Baselines - Microsoft Community Hub.

Security baseline for Microsoft Edge version 112 now available

Microsoft is pleased to announce the release of the security baseline for Microsoft Edge, version 112! We have reviewed the settings in Microsoft Edge version 112 and updated our guidance with the removal of three obsolete settings. A new Microsoft Edge security baseline package was just released to the Download Center. You can download the new package from the Security Compliance Toolkit. Allow using the deprecated U2F Security Key API (Removed) This setting became obsolete in version 104 and is now being removed from the security baseline. Enable 3DES cipher suites in TLS (Removed) This setting became obsolete in version 97 and is now being removed from the security baseline. Specifies whether the display-capture permissions-policy is checked or skipped (Removed) This setting became obsolete in version 110 and is now being removed from the security baseline. Microsoft Edge version 112 introduced 5 new computer settings and 5 new user settings. We have included a spreadsheet listing the new settings in the release to make it easier for you to find them. As a friendly reminder, all available settings for Microsoft Edge are documented here, and all available settings for Microsoft Edge Update are documented here. One item to note, we are trying out a slightly new layout for the spreadsheet. It’s still a work in progress so if you have any suggestions we are open to them.
