  1. Moving window to second monitor when I can't see primary monitor and no keyboard.

I'm a teacher and I use a Smart Board at the front of my classroom. It is a second monitor and my primary display is on my pc at my desk on the other side of the room.

I have a taskbar at the bottom of my Smart Board just fine, but if I start a task from the Smart Board, it may open on my primary monitor. Currently, I have no way to get it to my Smart Board (2nd monitor) without going to my desk and dragging it over to the second display. Is there a way to it with touch controls only? Right click on the taskbar button type of thing? I've tried programming a little button in autohotkey, but I'm not proficient in that and it doesn't do what I want to at all.

I'd appreciate solutions that don't want me to change my entire workflow (ie making the smart board my primary monitor for times when I'm at the front of the class, etc.).

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Edge browser continiously opens on primary monitor and I need it to open (to it's full size) on second monitor!

How oh how do you make this Edge browser open on my second monitor and then remember to open there? This is driving me crazy! It continuously opens on the primary monitor, and then I have to move it to the second monitor and expand the window EVERY
TIME! Come on Microsoft! Windows 7 did this with no issues...why have you taken such a step backward? This is so frustrating!

Windows on second monitor move to primary monitor

After a recent Windows update, windows in my second monitor goes to the primary monitor when monitors goes to black. I do not have this problem before.

My two monitors are Asus (primary) and AOC (second), The video card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (connect to primary monitor), and Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 (connect to second monitor).

I know this is an old question and I tried solutions as following.

Solution 1: Windows on second monitor moves to primary monitor after sleep/lock

I checked that there are no greyed out monitor in Device Manager.

Solution 2: Windows 7 moves/resizes windows on monitor power cycle

But as shown in the picture, I have multiple entries that confuse me. I'm not sure which entries I should change.

Monitor Primary monitor layout switches upon second monitor power off

    Hi alts63,

One of the possible reasons why your primary monitor layout switches is that the rotation lock option is turned on. In order to turn that off and fix the issue, please follow these steps:

    1. Press Windows key + A on your keyboard to open Action Center.
    2. Click the Expand button.
    3. Click the Rotation lock to turn it off.

Let us know the result for us to help you further.

    Regards.
