Windows 10: Mozilla’s Firefox 62 now available for public beta testing for Windows users

Mozilla after releasing its earlier version of Firefox 61 to general public, has started development work on its next version Firefox 62 for the web browser. The company has now made available the latest Firefox 62 version for public beta testing with new features.

The latest version of Firefox brings enhancement to the privacy of users with the company introducing new options Clear Site Data and Cookie button in the pop up beside the address bar.

This helps users to easily delete local browsing data for already visited websites along with being able to delete history, cookies and more. Mozilla is also introducing the ability to wipe or clear all of the personal and browsing data from the device which is disconnected from Firefox Sync.

The data which can be deleted includes passwords, history, cookies, bookmarks and more. This option helps users in safeguarding their data especially if they are accessing personal sites like banking sites from other PCs.

The company is also introducing a new Tracking Protection feature in Firefox 62 which can be enabled and disabled without any issues. The idea of the Tracking Protection feature is to prevent websites from being able to track you over the web.

The new Tracking Protection feature can be accessed via a button which is being added in the hamburger menu. Mozilla also introduces option to display preview images in the New Bookmark dialog along with introducing the ability to adjust various New Tab page sections like Highlights.

Mozilla is also bringing some features for the web developers by changing rules of the three pane Inspector in the Developer Tools. The latest Firefox 62 Web browser is expected to be released on September 5, 2018 for the general public.

Mozilla Firefox 3.0 Beta 1 Now Available

The Mozilla Corporation yesterday released Firefox 3 Beta 1, which is now available for download in a variety of languages. The beta includes updates to the default theme, the new places site management features, improved security architecture, and Gecko 1.9. Release notes with a more complete list of features, are also available.

Firefox 2.0 Beta 2 released for developer testing.

Mozilla released the Beta 2 of Firefox 2.0 today for developer testing, and would like to emphasize that it is for testing. The developer team says that "Current users of Firefox 1.x should not use Firefox 2 Beta 2 and expect all of their extensions and plugins to work properly." Firefox 2.0 should be released in early 2007, with a few more beta versions likely in Autumn and Winter. According to the developer team, some features of the new firefox are...

• Built in Phishing protection.
• Improved tabbed browsing.
• The ability to restore closed tabs.
• New Windows installer to resolve some long standing issues.

Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 5 Released

Mozilla announced Firefox 3 Beta 5 today, intended for developer testing and community feedback. Beta 5 includes new features as well as dramatic improvements to performance, memory usage and speed.

• Improvements to the user interface based on user feedback, including changes to the look and feel on Windows Vista, Windows XP, Mac OS X and Linux.
• Changes and fixes for new features such as the location bar autocomplete, bookmark backup and restore, full page zoom, and others, based on feedback from our community.
• Fixes and improvements to platform features to improve security, web compatabilty and stability.
• Continued performance improvements: changes to our JavaScript engine as well as profile guided optimization continues to improve performance over previous releases as measured by the popular SunSpider test from Apple, and in the speed of web applications like Google Mail and Zoho Office.
