    MP4 becomes a MP file that cannot be played.


    I have a collection of MP4 files. When I try to play some of them Windows Media Player cannot play them. The on clue is that the troubled is identified in it's folder icon shows it as a MP. They were all MP4 originally. What does this mean and how do I restore them to play as a MP4 file?

    Just checking in because Microsoft asked me to,

    I still have no luck with Mp4's playing in MP nor do I have any-more help from MS with a solution aside from the one and only suggestion that did nothing.

    Everything and anything that has to do with a video file is checked...still they don't play...all of my GoPro mp4 videos played flawlessly before the upgrade with MP now they won't
