Windows 10: mp4 video suddenly stopped playing video, plays audio only

    mp4 video suddenly stopped playing video, plays audio only


    The videos worked in the morning 5/03/19 but in the afternoon they only played the audio. Windows media won't play them and I tried several other players and still no video. Normally I use GOM Player as my default player and use Win Media Player as a back up, but even VLC player did the same. There were two others I tried with the same results. My laptop (64bit) is an MSI and I only got it 5 months ago. It is running win 10. What can I do to get the mp4 videos to work again? I have tried different codec packs to no avail. Any help would be appreciated

    Videos not playing

    This was helpful. Yesterday I fixed my Display Adapters as suggested by Krishna and videos started playing. Thanks.

    However today it happened again: the videos on youtube suddenly stopped playing. Again I had to reinstall the drivers, and it helped. Can anyone explain why this would happen over and over again with the already updated drivers?

    Then suddenly the audio broke, so I had to troubleshoot Playing Audio. Is there a way to troubleshoot Playing Video (without reinstalling display drivers)?

    Hi, everyone.
    I got a video mp4 unable to play or cannot render this file when i am play with windows media player.
    I have tried to repair the video with Stella Phoenix video repair. But its same.

    Petrib is right, your MP4 file should match the expected format of the phone. If it doesn't, then it wouldn't play properly. For example, I record an MP4 video at 640x480 and then play it on a device that only supports 320x240, then it won't play (although
    it is an MP4 file).

    You could search and download Super. A free, universal converter for most audio/video formats (even for mobiles). =)
