Discus and support MS 10 1909 keeps downloading and installing security intelligence 1.315.271.0 but does not... in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; For the past week when I manually check for updates on a x64 MS 10 1909 the security intelligence 1.315.271.0 is download and installed again each day....     MS 10 1909 keeps downloading and installing security intelligence 1.315.271.0 but does not...


    For the past week when I manually check for updates on a x64 MS 10 1909 the security intelligence 1.315.271.0 is download and installed again each day.


    However the latest latest cumulative update KB4550945 is not being downloaded and installed.


    I have 5 other similar machines -- 1.315.271.0 & KB4550945 were installed.


    Is this an issue that I can resolve?

    Security Intelligence Update won't install

    Security Intelligence Update for Windows Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.301.783.0)

    It tries to install this specific update over and over again, but quits before it can be installed. So it goes "Downloading - 0%", and finishes that just fine. But then it gets to "Installing - 0%" and stays there for about a second and then quits trying,
    instead going back to the "You're up to date" screen. BUT IT'S NOT because this happens EVERY time I turn my computer on. Where do I go to manually download this thing so it stops checking? Because it's driving me nuts.

    Error: ucrtbase.terminate not located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll

    Open elevated cmd.
    Type the following command: regsvr32 /u api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll.
    Type the following command: regsvr32 /i api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll.
    Close cmd. Shut down. Restart.

    That being said, I also did a registry cleaning, and it also had a pending update that went through that was apparently awaiting a full shut down. It might very well have just been that.

    Microsoft can nudge all they want, I'm keeping this older model laptop on 7, it's not powerful enough for the bloat of 10. I was very near to running a sfc scan (I was going to make that my last thing to set it to do before retiring to bed for the night) and then putting the windows disc in and repairing the install like you suggested tomorrow if the sfc repair didn't work.
