Windows 10: MS attempting to download invalid updates

Discus and support MS attempting to download invalid updates in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; This started with Windows 7 and I thought when I upgraded to Windows 10 the condition wouldn't exist but it does.     MS attempting to download invalid updates


    This started with Windows 7 and I thought when I upgraded to Windows 10 the condition wouldn't exist but it does. When I check on MS update progress, I see a dozen or more updates for a 32 bit system and mine is a 64 so the updates never install and instead, hang around forever.


    I guess it doesn't matter but it bugs me to see the pending updates that will never install because they can't. Is there some manner in which to clear the invalid updates?

    Invalid MS-DOS Function


    From reading the latter part of that thread I would suggest that the culprit was 3rd-party AV.

    Updates shown in "MS hide tool" not getting downloaded


    A good suggestion by TairikuOkami but I (personally) am a bit apprehensive about downloading anything listed because it shows I have updates available for a Xeon proc which I don't have:

    Invalid MS-DOS FUNCTION

    I have upgraded to Windows 10 . Now i cannot delete some of my files. It gives me an message Invalid MS-DOD function.

    I received some help to say I must download HOTFIX .com

    But being very tech or computer able i cannot get it right.

    Please can somebody in very simple step by stem help me to fix this problem
