Windows 10: MS Authenticator defaults to the wrong email account

1 I am asked to sign into a work site2 I enter my Gmail account, which is registered under MS3 I click on approve, on MS authenticator app android4 After I approve, the web page gives an error message, because it uses my HOTMAIL email instead of using my GMAIL email, which is what is required to log into the site, and which is what I entered on the web page5 kee getting:AADSTS50020: User account '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***' from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant 'ZZZZZZZZ' and cannot access the application 'QQQQQQQQQQQQDOS-ITU_TP-PROD in that tenant.so, PLEASE stop deletin

MS Authenticator App and email clients

If I use the MS Authenticator app say for my MS Account would the code be required to be entered when I access my email through Outlook365 or other client?

While I can see the benefits of using the app it would be cumbersome to have to enter a code everytime I wanted to access email, specifically if I have several email accounts on different providers all within the same email client.

No replies so tried this and found that the 2FA through the Authenticator does not apply to email accounts.

 

Outlook account and MS Authenticator - Disable Passwordless?

I was testing my Outlook email account with MS Authenticator app and when I enter my Username in the Outlook.com page, after that, I get a notification to Deny or Approve the sign in request. This is all great.

But I do need to have the option to enter my password as well right after entering my username (email) and then receiving the deny or approve notification.

How can I disable Passwordless logon? Under the MS Authenticator app settings there is no option to disable passwordless.

I still want to be able to use my password along with the MS Authenticator app as well because If I don't, I am afraid I will forget it. And also, I may have to remember the password in case something goes wrong with my account.

 

Unauthorized Emails from my account?

It is more than likely that your email account was hacked, either by a virus sniffing your password, or just simply hacked.

Either way, change your password on your email account. Unfortunately the damage by already be done. They already have your contact list and your email address associated with that contact list. There is nothing stopping them from sending out emails using their own SMTP servers to everyone on your contact list and claiming the emails are from your email address. They don't actually have to have access to your yahoo account or even any yahoo server to send emails to people that come from your address.
