    MS connect app not available after installing wireless display from optional features


    I have installed wireless display from optional features of windows settings but the connect app is not installed. There is no other way to get the connect app. I have tried uninstalling wireless display and then reinstalling several times but to no avail. Is there a fix for this?

    Hello Amith,

    In Windows 10 version 2004, the Connect app is not installed by default.

    We are now required to install the "Wireless Display" optional feature to have the Connect app available.

    The tutorial below can help show you step by step on how to do this.

    Wireless Display won't connect

    Thank you for the additional information you provided. It could be that the firmware has a compatible issue with the latest update of Windows 10. Can you confirm if you have the Microsoft Display Adapter app installed? If yes, you can try to check if there
    are available updates for the adapter.

    We would suggest checking this link
    Troubleshooting: Display Adapters     for the steps that you can follow to possibly resolve the issue. That article would also show you the link Wireless Display Adapter Compatibility to see the list that shows some of the many products that are compatible
    with the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. Kindly take note that the device only works with Miracast compatible devices.

    Wireless display option missing from Windows 11

    Hi,

    I have Lenovo laptop Ideapad 3, 15ALC6. I can't cast from laptop to Chromecast device. In dxdiag I got information that Miracast is not supported by graphic driver, Wi-Fi driver is OK.

    Does this means that hardware is responsible for not supporting Miracast or problem is in software (driver for graphic card)?

    In Optional apps and features I don't have Wireless display installed and I don't have an option to install it. I can't see it on a list of available features at all.

    DISM installation of wireless display has also failed with Error code 87.
