Windows 10: MS Flight Simulator X Loses Activation On Second Session

I purchased MS Flight Simulator X Gold Edition. I installed it on my Windows 10 laptop, and it asked for and accepted the activation code. But after shutting down the program and returning to it later, an error message says, "An error occurred while attempting to activate the product. The problem may be due to an incomplete installation of the application. Reinstalling the application may resolve the problem. Otherwise, please contact product support for assistance"


So it activated the software and then deactivated it after one session. Now it always gives me only 30 minutes per session, and I purchased the software which includes all documentation and the activation code. It is installed under Vista compatibility.


How can this issue be resolved, so the software will remain activated?

Activating Flight Simulator X: Acceleration

Activation is required to unlock all the features of the particular game. In order to activate Flight Simulator X you need to have the product key, which you would have received when you purchase the game.

• Do you receive any error code when you try to activate Flight Simulator X?

If you are receiving any error code while trying to activate Flight Simulator, you can refer the articles

Flight Simulator X: "An error occurred while attempting to activate the product The problem may be due to an incomplete installation of the application" and

You receive an activation message after you play Flight Simulator X for 30 minutes.

Check also that on reinstalling FSX, the FSX icon is not set in the Windows 10 Start menu:

A last tr****th FSX not appearing in the programs' list left of the Start Menu, in Microsoft Games, nor the FSX icon with other programs' ones in it (usually the FSX SDK is present in the program list). That is fixed like: just open C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start
Menu\Programs\Microsoft Games (note! ProgramData is a hidden item which needs to be made visible with the View tab of the File Explorer; check Hidden items). In there you will find already the Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK folder as the Microsoft Flight
Simulator X one is missing. Thus just create a new folder named with that name. Thence go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X, right click the fsx app and create a shortcut for it (which Windows will ask for creating on the
desktop). Then move that shortcut into C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X. FSX now appears both in the programs' list into Microsoft Games, and like a icon on the Start Menu
