    Whenever I'm playing a game I get a popup asking me to search the microsoft store for an app that can open "ms-gamingoverlay." I'm pretty sure in the event viewer its: "DCOM got error "87" attempting to start the service GamingService with arguments"Unavailable" in order to run the server:......" The sever number is different each event.Source: DistributedCOMEvent ID: 10005Anytime I get the popup when playing a game, my computer would try to open an excel spreadsheet to view whatever the data is. It's was almost like anything I changed in game settings would cause this pop up. Now it just a

    I was able to download and extract the files. I did run them as Administrator, but did not see the start up item. It really only occurs when I load a game that uses the ms-gamingoverlay.

    https://download.sysinternals.com/files/Autorun...

    When the file downloads, unzip it.

    Depending on your system, run Autoruns or Autoruns64 as Administrator

    In the search box in Autoruns, type gaming

    Does that find the startup entry for ms-gamingoverlay

    If it does, right click and delete the entry found
