Windows 10: MS Keyboard Layout Creator 1.4 failure to Setup

I have a new HP 64 bit computer with Windows 10. I'm trying to download and use Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator 1.4. During the Setup I get error message to the effect that it wants .NET Framework version 2.0.50727, which I can't find anywhere. What to do?

1. What is the version of Windows that you are using?

Based on my search, I see that the Microsoft Keyboard Layout creator is applicable for Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows XP Service Pack 1, and Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Here is the
system requirements information for Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator 1.4

Follow the below steps, and try to install the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator.

1. Press 'Windows key + R' to open 'Run Command'.

2. Type 'appwiz.cpl' without quotes, and press enter.

3. In the 'Programs and features' window, click on 'Turn Windows features on or off'.

4. Enable '.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)' option.

5. Click on 'OK'.

Follow the on-screen prompts, and restart the system if required. This will install the .NET Framework feature. Try to install the MS Keyboard Layout Creator, and check.

MS Keyboard Layout Creator

Hello,

I wanted to use MS Keyboard Layout Creator however when I choose "setup" after a couple of seconds of loading it says I got to have .net framework ver. 2.0.5 etc. So I followed through and tried to install
it but my laptop says its already installed (vers 4. something btw) and I repeated the process but still the same

what should I do?

I appreciate your efforts on this. I see that you are using Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator to create keyboard layouts. I would like to inform that this is an old program, which was initially designed to work on Windows XP computers.



Good to know that the program is working for you. One of the thing I would suggest you to try is to change the description of the keyboard layout that you have created and see if that helps. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Open Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator.
   
2. Click on File and load the keyboard layout.
   
3. Click on Project, and click on
   Properties.
   
4. Change the Description of the keyboard layout.
   
5. Click on OK.
   

If this doesn’t work, you may try rebuilding the DLL and Setup Package. After rebuilding the DLL and Setup Package go to Start >> Settings >> Time & Language >> Language >> Click on the language pack and select
options, now click on the old keyboard layout and select
Remove.
