    MS Modern Keyboard not charging to 100%


    Brand new Microsoft Modern Keyboard (EKZ-00001, model 1780, sn 9004987846xxx, date 1847) not charging to 100% per Windows 10 Setup Devices. I had it charging via USB for 24 hours. The LED above the up arrow key stopped blinking, went solid on, after a few minutes. Windows 10 still reporting only 89% charged a day later. Otherwise it seems to be working entirely as expected.


    Is it unreasonable to expect the thing should charge to 100%? Does this unit have a defective battery/charge circuit/firmware?

    Battery status 100% fully charged


    Every laptop and cell phone out there are designed to charge the battery to 100% and keep it there when plugged in. Modern Lithium Ion batteries do not have "memories" like the old Ni-Cads and others did. Once the battery is charged to 100%, the carging circuitry will trickle charge it to keep it at 100%. If you don't want your battery to stay at 100%, then you will have to unplug the laptop from power.

    Nope not every laptop is designed that way Lenovo LT are not they will when plugged in will only charge when the battery is below a set percentage and then charge it to 100% then quit charging.
