Windows 10: MS Money App, Windows 11 Home, does NOT open the Home Page when opened.

App details:I am on Windows 11 Home, latest version with all fixes.Some time ago, maybe an Update to the app or Windows, when I start Money the Home page shows, but it just flashes. The green bar on the left shows where it opened too, Home...Now if I click on Home, it opens fine:A bit of a pain too do this every time.Also, it is probably the latest Update as the program has changed. I used to be able to see my stocks on a list that had the Watch list open to a list of my stocks that showed the individual stock like this:Now to see this, I have to select the Watchlist, and I see My Watchlist, b

MS Money in Windows 10

Problem opening Microsoft Money when updated to Windows 10, you can try this; it should allow you to get your money data screen open with all your transaction data intact. I have not looked at using online transactions, but
if you just used money to have a visual account of your banking data at home then this will allow you to do this.

Your old system will still be on your computer, in my case this was Windows 7, it should apply to Windows 8 etc.

Windows 10.

Open File Explorer. Look under list This PC find your old windows ref.

WIN7_os(c Open this file, from folder list select Program Files Folder

Program Files (x86) Open this file, from folder list select Microsoft Money

Microsoft Money Open this file, from the listing choose the System Folder

System Folder scroll down the list displayed and find msmoney.exe (at this stage you can right click your mouse and create a short cut to
place on your Desktop and then open MS Money when you need it).

Msmoney.exe open this file and it opens the Welcome Page of MS Money log on to your account and your past data will open for you to use.



This is the long format to see how you got there; the alternative is to just type msmoney.exe into the Search the web and Windows display on the Windows 10 Task Bar, press enter and the Welcome Page should open.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Explorer 11 - will not open in full page!

I found a rather strange nine-step solution that I tried out and it worked.

The procedure is in Don Varnau's 18th Nov 2017 post in
How to change initial size of new window automatically [IE11] {Don Varnau's procedure} - MSA
and here it is broken down into individual steps -

1 Close all IE windows before you start

2 Open IE11 and go to a webpage that has a hyperlink to another webpage in it because you'll need it for step #5

3 Drag the window edges to fill the display without using the maximise button or any WinKey+[Left/Right/Up/Down]Arrow combinations
4 Check that the 'Maximise' button still appears in the top-right corner

and has not tripped into being the 'Restore down' icon

. If it has tripped, go back to step #3.

5 On a hyperlink on the webpage, right-click & select 'Open in a new window'.

6 Drag the window edges of the new window to fill the display without using the maximise button or any WinKey+[Left/Right/Up/Down]Arrow combinations
7 Check that the 'Maximise' button still appears in the top-right corner

and has not tripped into being the 'Restore down' icon

. If it has tripped, go back to step #6.

8 Close the first IE window by clicking on the X in the top-right corner of the IE window

9 Close the second IE window by clicking on the X in the top-right corner of the IE window

IE should now always open in this max state.

I only bothered trying this solution because Don Varnau had posted it.
- Don Varnau has a track record of highly competent contributions to forums.
- His endorsement persuaded me that it was not a ridiculous idea.
