Windows 10: MS mthly update of windows 10 trashes my open office settings why?

specifically it trashes "4"user\apps\open office\4If I copy in a good copy of that entire subdirectory "4" [which is for Apache Open office 4] then I am back to normal. Is MS deliberately sabotaging its competitors products?

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Open Office

I used ms office for ever. Then I decided to try open office and when I opened a file and changed some things and decided to go back to ms office the file was messed up. Luckily I had a backup file

 

I cannot open any of my Office files; Word, Excel, Powerpoint
