Windows 10: MS office issues

After upgrading to Windows 10, I cannot save an excel file. They now open as read-only. When I try to "save as", it says I do not have permission and to ask the Administrator for approval...I AM the administrator, and I checked to make sure that I still was.

Thoughts?

I was hoping for answers but none have been forthcoming. I have found my own slightly tedious solution to my problem and that is to save the Word/Excel doc to memory stick, open it on another computer and save it using a different file name. My laptop
opens those perfectly now!!!!

I have a somewhat different problem after upgrading where my MS Office documents will open, but only in read-only mode. I cannot save them. Similarly with new documents. The error message says that I cannot save in the network location and that I am to
contact the administrator, But I am logged in as the administrator. When I check the folder, the document name is there, but all content is missing. Very frustrating. I hope this gets sorted very quickly is it vital to be able to save important documents.

 

Does this affect a certain file? For example, 've already made a file and open it in Excel, but when save it, it says that it is read only. Or can not save even new files? For example, open Excel, enter some information, then try to save, but it gives an error. The exact error message would be helpful.

 

If this affects all files in a certain folder or drive, then this might be an issue with NTFS permissions. This can e.g. happen when you use an external harddrive, which has initially been formatted and used with another PC or user account.
