Windows 10: MS Paint Win 11 version - Save option is functioning like Save As

In the Windows 11 version of MS Paint, the Save option no longer works as a single-click save after making a change to an image.Instead, it brings up the Save As window prompt, defaults the Save as Type to PNG and puts the save folder to the previous one used instead of the current folder.As a result, instead of having a simple one-click save, you now have to change the image type back to the original format, locate the correct folder and finally confirm the file overwrite prompt. This drastically slows down the quick edit process.All of this means that it's no longer possible to do a quick,

Cannot edit images when saved in Fresh paint

Hi Kamila,

As per the information, I understand that when you save an image drawn in Fresh Paint, you are unable to edit the image once saved.

If the above is true, I suggest that you follow the steps below to save the image in a manner that will allow you to edit it.

• To save your painting right click on fresh paint and click on
  Save as. You will get an option to select the location.
• Select the location and save the painting.
• When you reopen fresh paint you will be on the painting you used before closing fresh paint. If you do not get the painting, you may click on image and go to the location and select the image to edit.

Paint 3D and save as video option

You may try the steps listed below and check if it works:

Run App troubleshooter

• Refer to
  fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.
  

Reset Paint 3D app:

• Open ‘Settings’ and click on ‘Update and Security’.
  
• Click on ‘Apps’ and choose ‘Apps and features’.
  
• Locate the ‘Paint 3D’ app and click on it.
  
• Select ‘Advanced options’ and choose ‘Reset’.
  
• Wait for the reset to complete.
  
• Close settings, launch ‘Paint 3D’ and try saving now.

Paint save function doesn't work.

In the new Paint, the file saving function does not work as it should; very often, instead of saving, it opens a dialog box with a different file format (for example, the original one is ".JPG", but app change it to ".PNG") and also in the dialog box a different location. that is, you need to select the path where to save the file and select the format.
This is how Save-AS function should work but not a Save.

So the question is, how I can prevent updates for Paint? I have installer with working version, but I need to reinstall it almost daily, because stupid Windows always update it to the last version which broken.
