Windows 10: MS Photos.

Discus and support MS Photos. in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I am sure I could search 'MS Photos' with a description.......ie... search 'Birds' and all images of birds were revealed.Now it only displays images... Discussion in 'Windows 10 Gaming' started by E JB, Dec 1, 2022.

    MS Photos.


    I am sure I could search 'MS Photos' with a description.......ie... search 'Birds' and all images of birds were revealed.Now it only displays images where the search word is in the title.I also use 'Pictures' and now find that this programme now does search for specific items by description as well as title!I can, of course, just use 'Pictures' but just interested as to the above dilemma?

    Windows Photos Viewer is an oddity; as I suggested, find a free downloadable image viewer you like, and use that.

    I use a program in building my family tree- it lets me use an external viewer- simply whatever is set as default. Here you can see it displays the image in Photoviewer. I imagine Vuescanner requires you to specify the path literally.

    Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

    Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

    I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

    Might be helpful to list what i've done MS Photos. :) I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

    I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

    I use Vuescan scanning software & with it I can select a program (such as MS Photos) to view the scanned photos when scanning is complete.
    For that I would need to enter the location of the MS Photos exe file however, there doesn't seem to be an exe file for MS Photos!
    Can anyone suggest how I can solve this problem.

    Windows version: 20H2
