  3. Upgraded PC!!

    Hi dear Support Engineer,

your statement is somehow misleading, I'm afraid:

    • MS does not eject anything into licensees motherboards. MS takes identifying data
from MBs, CPUs, BIOS and TPMs and store them in their activation servers and checks this regularly (each boot).
    • MS VP Gabe Aul has publicly committed that Windows Support will re-entitle W10 licenses after an hardware change. See my previous post.
So there is at least a chance for a solution for Retail-License users. Orphaned OEM users and users of pre-installed W7/W8 have the same constraints as they had with W7/W8: No major HW changes by customers with these licenses. The vendor should take care
    for these issues.

MS re-releases GWX app to W7 and W8 users

Is a subscription required to continue to receive W10 updates?

I've read that Windows 10 updates may eventually be offered only with annual subscription fees, even though it's being offered free of charge now to W7 and W8 users. Can't find anything about this in the info MS has sent about the product. Can anyone
tell me if W10 will be supported in the same way W7 and W8 are, or if MS is planning to convert W10 to a subscription-support product?

    This is news? *Confused

MS have been doing this every month for (roughly) the past year.

I guess MS is worried about reaching their 1 billion user target.
