  2. Camera Roll from Skydrive - Pictures still uploading, but not visible in photos app

    Ok, here is scenario:

    Nokia Lumia 920, connected to my Microsoft account, pictures automatically syncing to Skydrive

    <SIDENMOTE>

    BTW, it took me a while to fully embrace the concept of 'Camera Roll' sync and I highly recommend for MS to do a better job in familiarizing new users with it. In brief - and that is not part of my problem yet, but might be useful for other forum users:
    Camera Roll simulates your analogue film roll in classic cameras; you 'make it full and empty it out at one point'. The advantage of cloud involved is, that it will automatically backup all pictures (unidirectional - to cloud only), which is a good thing,
    cause you cannot loose anything and actually have a copy of your Camera Roll in the cloud. So at any time you can delete all pictures on your mobile device and then sort out your cloud version, e.g. distribute to various systematic folders and delete those
    images you don't like. Plus at any time, your photo app on your device lets you browse your cloud folders. So you will find that on your device app, there is one folder called 'Camera Roll' = local device folder that automatically uploads to the cloud, and
    'Camera Roll from Skydrive' = Content of your cloud folder. That concept is finally understood and accepted, but ...

    </SIDENOTE>

    ...and this is where my problem begins.

    I Recently I decided that for the first time it was about time to empty my local device' 'Camera Roll'. So I did the following:

    - Went to my Pictures app and by long-holding the folder tile selected 'delete contents',

    - Confirmed that I understand that all pictures/videos will be erased from local device

    - Did NOT empty the Camera Roll folder on Skydrive.

    - Afterwards started taking new pictures.

    the new behaviour is the following:

    - new pictures will still upload to the 'Camera Roll' folder on Skydrive as expected

    - I can see the new pictures in my local 'Camera Roll' folder as expected

    - I can NO LONGER see the pictures in the 'Camera Roll from Skydrive' folder from my pictures app. Instead it looks like it is constantly trying to connect (moving dotted line top of screen). That makes me cry = well almost...

    Does anybody out there have a similar experience - or even better have a hotfix for it? It obviously is some bug and I am happy to help MS find the root-cause. Would be surprised to be the only one with this issue, unless most people out there have up to
    now only been confused by Camera Roll sync (as it is in fact no sync but Upload only).

    Sorry for lots of text...

  3. how do i use the camera to interpret my hand gestures on my laptop? i don't have a touch screen.

    Hi John,

    Welcome and thank you for posting your concern here in Microsoft Community and welcome to the Windows 10 family.

    Please be informed that normal camera won’t work with real sense 3d feature in Windows 10. As of now, it’s still not available as only when systems with OEM embedded will come out there will have that feature. Those will have the latest 3D real sense camera
    which normal cameras will not be able to detect. So, I would suggest you to wait for them to be released if you want to experience that amazing feature from Microsoft.

    Hope this information helps. Please post us if you need any further assistance with Windows.

    Thank you.
