MS Safety Scanner shows several "Infected Files" during scan then says "no viruses, spyware... were detected" when finished? Is this ok?I'm having a problem with windows update. It gets partially through the update and then says the update didn't work and backs-off the update. I've been dealing with this for months. I've even done a full reinstall. The last option I tried to fix it was the MSERT scan. The scan found several "Infected files " while the scan was running but then when it finished, it said it didn't find anything.I'm running Windows 10 Pro upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro on an HP Z8

Microsoft Safety Scanner

When full scanning with Microsoft Safety Scanner, it displayed 98 infected files but on completion of the scan it showed "no viruses, spyware, and other potentially unwanted software". Did Microsoft automatically delete these infected files? Or did I just waste 7 hours running the full scan?

Safety Scan detects 4 infected files while running, then when the scan is completed there is a message that no viruses, spyware or other potentially unwanted software was detected. How can I remove the troyan viruses? Thanks.

Microsoft Scanner works in steps.

So at first stage it will detect what may be an infected file and it will add that to a list. This is the number you see when you see the scanner progressing. These are not actual infections, just suspicious files.

Once the scan is done the safety scanner will match the suspected files with the most recent database of threats and then tell you the actual infections on your system. If the last number is 0 it means no actual infection was found.
