Windows 10: MS Visual C++ 2015 Redist x86 install problem

I am adding an external Asus BluRay burner to my HP desktop computer. Software provided with the burner tried to install the Visual C++ Redist x86 on my computer but failed saying it was already installed. I searched for it to uninstall it and let the Asus instal routine install it. I found several C++ Redist x86 files with differing years but didn't find 2015. I downloaded from MS the 2015 variant and tried to install it myself and got the same error saying it was already installed.


Any ideas where or how to look to find the 2015 version so I can uninstall it?

So good news bad news....
Geek Uninstaller would not uninstall Visual Studio C++ 2015 redist because it doesn't see it as being there.
This lead me on to more reading and research. It would seem and I don't know if this is a bug or by design. If Visual C++ Redist 2017 is on the box it will not let you install the x64 version of the 2015 Redist. I don't know if they share some files or like I said if its a bug. I uninstalled the 2017 redist and 2015 installed no problem.

Eagle DDU seems to have fixed the amdihk64 error message I was getting...thank you

Resident Evil 7 now works not sure if it is due to the cleanup of the amd drivers or if it was because of getting 2015 back on.

Gears 4 still doesn't work....splash screen and crash...May be due to not installing an actual amd driver package. There is a part of me that is hesitant.

Work in IT all these years and would love to see the day when video drivers do not become an issue.

Anyone have a all around suggested version of the AMD Crimson Reds for 480's

To check follow the steps:

• Type Default programs & select programs & features.
• Check if Microsoft visual c++ 2005 x86
  is installed.

If yes suggest you to uninstall & reinstall Microsoft visual c++ 2005 x86
& check if the issue persists.

If the issue persists I would suggest you to contact the game manufacturer.

Visual C++ Issues. Why did installing Visual C++ 2017 Remove Visual C++ 2015 from my Windows 10 Programs list?

I ran into this problem when I installed Visual C++ 2017 Redistributables X86 and 64 on my Windows 10 PC today.

When I went to my programs list to make sure it registered there properly I found that my latest updated install of

Visual C++ 2015 Redistributables X86 and 64 had both been removed from my programs list.

This is a problem because I have multiple programs, including several games, that require Visual C++ 2015 to run!

What did the VC++ 2017 do to my VC installations?

Can anyone help me with this? I can not get Visual C++ 2015 to reinstall or show back up in my Programs List!!
