Windows 10: MS Windows 10 pro license for Virtual Machines on a PC Laptop CAD Workstation

Hi We would like to know which MS Windows 10 Pro license type is required for a virtual machine , which is installed on a Laptop heavy CAD workstation via VMware Workstation Pro software. Currently we have used the workstation OEM Windows 10 Pro license key, but activation cannot be performed, why some settings cannot be used in the OS.Regards Soren

Move windows 10 pro license from virtual machine to physical machine.

I need to move a windows 10 pro license from a virtual machine to a physical machine. The license has been bought as windows 10 pro not upgrade etc. The thing is that the computer (Mac book pro) where the virtual machine used to live is now dead beyond
repair and to expensive to use. So I want to install windows 10 on a dell laptop now but I cant deactivate the old license on the virtual machine. Any suggestions?

Windows 10 Enterprise is only available to volume license customers who are often large organizations that purchase Windows 10 licenses in bulk for hundreds or thousands of machines.

You could buy Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Pro for Workstation which is equivalent and greater in features than Enterprise.

So, you could buy that through the Microsoft Store:

You can then download and it and set it up in a virtual machine.

Transfer Windows 10 license to vmware workstation

I would like to transfer my license from my laptop to a virtual machine (VMware Workstation). My hard drive failed on my laptop and I have decided to run Windows 10 under a virtual machine instead fo directly on the laptop.

I installed Windows 10 on a virtual machine, but it did not find the license (expected).

Is there a way to transfer the license for the laptop to the virtual machine? Or is there a way to capture the license from the data on the former hard drive? It appears that some or all of the data is on the hard drive, but the laptop will not boot off
of it.
