Windows 10: Ms-windows-store: purge caches. Package couldn't be registered

Hi, One day I could neither open any types of image nor use media player as well as open Microsoft store. When I run wreset.exe, the message Ms-windows-store: purge caches. Package could not be registered appeared. I did not install any new app so I don't know where the problem is. I have updated windows, try Troubleshoot with Media player but it says This file doesn't have its app associated.... Can you help me with this problem?Thank you.

WSReset purge cache issue

Yep, it did yield the same issue, with WSReset unable to purge the Store cache.








Also, I already tried re-registering Store via powershell. Still no cigar.

Hey, I don't know if this issue has been resolved before or ever answer but I tried using Xbox game bar but it is not signing in. I tried login in through the web browser to see if there is an issue with my account but it works fine. I tried the wsreset and displayed this error "ms-windows-store: PurgeCaches package could not be registered". I've tried checking the cache folder but there was no cache folder or anything in the localstate folder. I've also tried using the troubleshoot for the window store but showed no issues.

 

Windows Store cache may be damaged

The first step to reset Windows Store cache is to run wsreset in cmd.
Alternatively you may try to remove Store cache in: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

If that doesn't help - you need to reinstall Windows Store app.
