Windows 10: MS Wireless Display Adapter Disconnecting GPU on Surface Book 3

I am using a new Surface Book 3 and a MS Wireless Display Adapter. When connected to the wireless adapter the NVIDIA GPU Disconnects. It shows in Device Manager, but does not show up in any software, clearly stops working. NVIDIA Manager also states a card is not installed. If extending the Surface Screen this is mitigated. However, I should not need to mirror or extend my screen in order to use a video card. All drivers are up to date.

MS Wireless display adapter - wont connect

I have a MS Surface Book running Windows 10 and I bought a MS Wireless display adapter to connect to m Samsung Smart TV.

I plugged in the display adapter as per instructions and the connection was made immediately and my laptop now has the display adapter listed.

I was able to project from laptop to TV for a few minutes then it disconnected and will not reconnect.

Each time it tries, it briefly connects, I get the message saying there is a firmware update, but it does not stay connected long enough for me to run the update.

Its driving me mad.

Please help!

 

MS Wireless Display Adapter - "Driver Error"

Hi,

I cannot connect to my MS Wireless Display Adapter. Tried all the troubleshooting steps. The message in the Wireless Display Adapter App is "Driver Error".

In Device Manager:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

I tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling ..

Running Windows 10 with the latest updates on a Surface Book with a display adapter firmware 2.0.8350

Microsoft wireless display adapter not working with windows 10 vs 1709 on surface pro 3

We appreciate the information that you have provided. Since you were able to connect your other devices using the adapter, there might be a problem with the connection between your Surface Pro 3 and the adapter. We suggest that you disconnect the adapter
from your Surface and reconnect it. Here's how:

• Press the Start button, then select Settings
  > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
• Under Projectors, select the name of the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, and select
  Remove device.
• Select Add Bluetooth or other devices.
• Click Wireless display or dock to reconnect your Surface and the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.

After reconnecting the wireless display adapter, attempt to cast your Surface to your TV. If reconnecting the wireless display adapter does not resolve the issue, Windows Firewall might be preventing it from connecting to your Surface. Kindly allow the adapter
to communicate through the firewall. Here's how:

• Press the Start button, then type allow firewall, then select
  Allow an app through Windows Firewall from the search results.
• Under Name, find Wireless Display and make sure
  Private and Public are selected, then select
  OK. Kindly see the attached screenshot as reference.
  
  
  • Note: If you can't select anything in the Allowed apps and features
    box, it means that you are not signed in as an administrator. Kindly select
    Change settings, enter your administrator password, and select
    Yes. Your administrator password should be the same as the password you used to set up your Surface. Then, make sure
    Private and Public are selected, then click
    OK.
