  2. i changed boot setting in msconfig my pc is not starting now....

Boot into Windows RE and try the commands posted in the article Windows won’t load after changing MSCONFIG Boot Options

If you need step-by-step help, boot into WinRE command Prompt and run:

    bcdedit

Take a photo of the output window and upload the image here.

  3. msconfig change, now can't boot; am I borked?

    Boot configuration completely borked

Really appreciate everyone's input here and want to make sure I'm clear on everything. I'm not unfamiliar with all of this (though definitely not an expert) but have had to deal with it seldom enough that I do want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

    1. The original system partition was likely on the old C drive, so it did get nuked (Disk 8). (Why would Windows choose to use that drive when Win 11 was being installed on Disk 7? /boggle)
    2. Since the boot drive is GPT, I cannot move the bootloader there, which means I have to create a system partition as my first step.
    3. I do not have access to any of the tools that are normally there when booting to advanced troubleshooting (the only option I have is UEFI), but I can create a 500MB partition on C drive, no problem.
      1. Saltgrass mentioned only needing 100-200MB - how much space do I actually need for this partition?
      2. Also, I believe the commands mentioned there can only be run from the boot command prompt under advanced tools > troubleshooting, right? And I cannot get there.
    4. However, what would I do on step 2 in the Create a System Reserved Partition and keep original OS guide? There is no current BCD. Both msconfig and EasyBCD both fail to open the data store saying it is invalid.
    5. And just to confirm, neither the Convert legacy BIOS nor the System Reserved Partition guides are applicable in my particular case, correct?
Ideally, I would prefer not to have to reinstall if it can be avoided. Bearing all of the above and going for a non-reinstall approach, how should I proceed? The big gotcha seems to be that I don't have access to the boot troubleshooting so can't run any of the commands. But there should basically be 3 steps:

    1. Create an NTFS partition on C drive (not sure on the size yet: 100, 200, 500MB for Win 11 Pro?) and it must be at the front of the drive?
    2. Somehow create the BCD on that partition without access to the boot tools command line.
    3. Rename the partition to System Reserved and remove the drive letter.
Is that correct? Sorry if I've missed something that has been posted or mentioned. Trying to collate all of the responses and linked resources to make sure I have the right info... Thanks again!
