  1. Msconfig services maybe the reason my internet and keyboard not working?

    Hi all,

I have a Lenovo Ideaflex 14. A while ago my keyboard started acting up until eventually all of the keys stopped working. I've read that this is a common issue with this model of computer.

Had been using an external keyboard for a while, until my internet also started coming in and out until eventually it stopped working completely. All other devices in my apartment connect to the network fine.

Stupidly, I tried to fix the problem by taking internet advice (the irony isnt lost on me) and deleting the network/internet driver intel(r) wireless-n 7260. Without internet i havent been able to download it again. Im fuzzy on the details about how i deleted it but Im pretty sure I did, or I disabled it...anyway I did something.

I called lenovo support and the person got me to disable/enable and restart the network to no avail. Then he had me list off the services in msconfig that are stopped- at this point he told me to pay 120 to talk to a level 3 engineer, which i simply don't have. He said that Im lucky the comp still runs, and that the engineer would connect remotely, fix the drivers issue which would potentially resolve the keyboard issue.

Im wondering if any of you know what that engineer might do so I dont have to pay money I don't have. Here is a list of some of the services that stopped working:

    - alljoyn router service (microsoft)

    - application layer gateway service (microsoft)

    - application identity (microsoft)

    - app readiness (microsoft)

    - activex installer (micr.)

    - bitlocker drive encryption service (micr.)

    - bluetooth audio gateway (micr)

    - avctp (micr)

    - bluetooth support (micr)

    - certificate propagation (micr)

    - com+ system application (micr)

    - intel(r) content protection heci (intel)

    - optimize drives (micro)

    - device install service

    - dev query background discovery broker

I can post screenshots of the rest if necessary.

    Any help appreciated.

    :)

msconfig, disable all services, break lfsvc (geoloc)

I answer to my previous message:

I provided name lsvc instead of lfsvc, and i created like an idiot a service named lsvc and i had to delete it manually.

Ok about the previous step it worked for me, but for a reason or another, even if all services are selected, i won't be able anymore to select normal boot from msconfig.

    Last edit for this message:

I tryed all ms config fixed found on the web, i enabled all startup item with ctrl alt del,

tryed disable a service temporary then activate all services again, msconfig say it's normal boot and will restart, but next startup, it's on selective startup.

  4. Msconfig services maybe the reason my internet and keyboard not working?

    msconfig services tab

You will always have errors and warnings, just ignore them unless you have a particular issue, then that can help you diagnose the problem. And Task manager has the same services listed as msconfig does.
