    MSDisplayAdapter_1E: Nothing in the specification of the MS Adapter indicated that


    I am using this piece of kit to run a Dell P2415Q monitor from my SurfaceBook laptop which is only a month old. The laptop screen resolution is 3240x2160. The Dell monitor will support 3840x2160. But the highest resolution I am offered for the Dell in Windows, Settings is 1920x1080. Nothing in the specification of the MS Adapter indicated that there was an upper limit to the resolution it could support. Am I missing something obvious.

    • Is the issue specific to MS Word 2016 or does it happen on all the applications?


    If the issue is specific to MS Word, I suggest you check if there are any updates pushed for Word and install them. Click on
    Help at the top and check for updates.



    If you already have an updated version of Word already, you may go through
    Hindi Indic Input 3 - User Guide and check if that helps.



    If the issue persists, you may use Translate text into
    a different language     as an alternative.

    Hi Mike,

    There are several reasons why you are having issues charging the computer's battery. Having said that, we will be doing some troubleshooting steps to isolate the cause of this issue. Before we proceed, may we know the following:

    • Any changes made on the computer prior to this concern?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
    • Can you send us a screenshot of the battery indicator?
      Note: Please do not include any personal information.
    • Have you tried using a different power adapter? if so, did you experience the same issue?
    • Have you tried connecting your power adapter to a different power outlet?

    In the meantime, we suggest that you perform a power troubleshooter on the computer. Here's how:

    • Right-click on the Start menu.
    • Select Control Panel.
    • Next to the View by: option, select Small icons.
    • Go to Troubleshooting.
    • Choose System and Security.
    • Click on Power.
    • Follow the on-screen prompt.

    Once done, kindly check if you will still experience the same issue.

    Please post back with the result for further assistance.

    I just replaced my MS Display Adapter with a new one and my computer will not detect it. I replaced it thinking it was defective but apparently it is not the adapter causing the problem. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!
