Windows 10: MSI B650 WIFI motherboard - - windows 11 - - wifi not working

Hello, I have a MSI B650 WIFI motherboard with latest windows 11. I always had problems with wifi. In the past windows would randomly disable wifi device and sometimes it will not show any available network on wifi. I used to re-install wifi driver or check if the necessary services are running and this helped me to connect back to my wifi network. Recently issue occurred again, but this time nothing works. Driver is ok atleast windows says so. But Windows does not show any wifi network available. I tried everything from reinstalling driver, checking all services, resetting dns, winsock etc. N

Wifi connection issues, Windows 11, new motherboard with integrated wifi

I have a new MSI wifi motherboard and Windows 11 on a homebuilt PC. My internet connection is over wifi and I generally get around 75Mbps, but I will regularly lose connection to game servers and often have trouble getting connected to webpages, as if there is a problem with the DNS server. I can sit at that PC with my 8+ year-old macbook on my lap (about 24" from the wifi antennas on my PC) and get 200+ Mbps and no connection issues. I also spend 8 hours a day working in the same room (on wifi) on my work laptop with no connection issues, so it feels like something specific to the PC. I'm thinking something in the Windows configuration, but network configuration is not my strong point. Any ideas?

 

Windows 7 virtual wifi authentication mode

Hello.

Just a quick question to whoever is using windows 7 virtual wifi capability - when you type in "netsh wlan show hostednetwork", cmd window displays a list of settings for your hosted virtual wifi.

I was wondering, is there a way to change authentication method from WPA2-Personal to simple WEP ?

No WiFi, and no sound, on MSi GE60 20E


Hello there, I'm new to TenForums, and this post actually isn't for me; it's for my boyfriend. We both upgraded to Windows 10 as soon as we could, and we've been loving it. We haven't had any complaints or problems until about a week ago. My boyfriend (he's the one with the MSi I listed in the title) has lost WiFi capabilities. It isn't just that he can't see any networks, he doesn't have any WiFi options at all.



Here is mine, as a comparison:



As I mentioned, he hasn't had a problem until this, and I haven't had one at all. I've tried all of the fixes I've read about, but they're all for an old VPN, which it's not, or no connections listed, which it is also not. I can't update the drivers because he can't connect to the internet. I tried doing a system reset, and it worked for about 2 minutes. It showed he was connected to the internet, but once I tried to do anything online, it went back to nothing.

Also, I'm not sure if the sound is related, but any help with that, too, would be appreciated. I'm more worried about the WiFi, though. We tried hooking in an ethernet cable, but that didn't work either. I've run out of ideas! Thanks in advance for any help!
