Windows 10: MSI webcam not working/not being deteced

hello to begin i have an MSI Prestige 14Evo B13M and it has windows 11, i've just bought it.I have tried options such as downloading a new driver but there seems to be no driver relevant to a webcam on the msi website, i do not have msi scm, fn+f6 does not work other than showing what looks to be a locked webcam icon. i also do not have access to any camera driver in my device manager it would appear and i have looked through many threads without any success. please help

Most laptops have a built-in webcam on it, If it's not working, there's a problem with the driver or settings of it.

Step1: I request you to check for Hidden Devices in Device Manager. Please refer to these steps:

a. On the desktop, press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.

b. Click on View and select Show Hidden Devices.

c. Check for the webcam under Imaging Devices.

d. If the webcam is listed, then right-click on it and select Update Driver Software.

e. Select Browse My Computer for Driver Software and follow the prompted steps.

Step 2: Run the hardware troubleshooter and check if you receive any error messages.

a. On the desktop, press Windows key + W and type Troubleshooting.

b. Click on it and click on Hardware and Sound.

c. Click on Hardware and Devices and follow the prompted steps.

If the laptop doesn't have a built-in webcam on it, you would need to purchase an external webcam, plug it on your laptop and driver will download automatically.

If the F6 key is not working, try pressing Fn + F6.

Some MSI laptops nave an app installed that may be blocking the webcam, click your Start Button, then just type SCM, do you see the SCM app in the resulting list?

If you do, open that and check if the webcam is turned on in that app.

If what was not the problem, go to the support page for your laptop on the MSI website to download and re-install the version of webcam drivers they provide.
