    MSIEXEC.exe getting BUFFEROVERFLOW


    Every morning, when I wake up, I can hear the fans on my laptop running at high speed. When I check, using Procmon.exe (from sysinternals). I see MsiExec.exe running hard and getting BUFFEROVERFLOW 's. When I suspend the process, the CPU and fan slow way down.

    DO I have a virus? I ran full system scans using mcAfee and Malewarebytes and found nothing. I have Windows 10 Home

    msiexec problem

    During each boot-up the last few weeks I am getting a strange Popup window labeled "Windows Installer" what does it mean and how to fix the problem. I run memtest86 for about 25 hours and nine full cycles and all was well. The SFC and DISM did not help either.
    I have reduced my Startup listings down to ten programs. I also Searched my "C" partition for msiexec/* and then msiexec and nothing was found.

    I have gotten to the point where one could define my efforts as insanity.

    Windows Installer V. 5.0.14393.0

    That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

    At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    Cheap Photo box that will get the job done

    WEll i took on this project for PP hes a hardware reviewer and wants to get the professional looking pics for the Pc parts

    Materials:
    • Big cardboard box
    • a razor
    • white material 3 yards
    • cone lights
    • stapler
    • medical tape
    • pvc pipe about 6 inches longer than your box
    • white paint any cheap finger paint would work
    the project I'm guessing will cost me $30 if it works out properly
    I will post pictures and step by step as i do it
