Windows 10: MSMPENG.EXE HIGH COMMIT SIZE

Hello, recently my RAM has been very full compared to before. When I checked the default Task Manager, I realized that the total amount of RAM used appeared to be only about 1 to 2 GB of my total of 16 GB. However, Task Manager reported that approximately 50% of my RAM was being used. When checking Resource Monitor, I found out that MsMpEng.exe was taking up 500,000 K of memory. My laptop is the Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fa1093dx.Solutions I have tried:Uninstalling all programs from Control Panel except defaults Running sfc /scannow and DISM /Online/Cleanup-Image commandsAdding Windows Defender

Committed memory in Windows 10 is very high even though Resource Monitor does not show any application with high commit

I was going nuts because process explorer etc not really showing what the issue was. eventually tracked it to splwow64.exe.
memory consumption being 3GB, commit being 12GB... kill the splwow64.exe and commit goes down to 3.2GB

I also have epson printer driver, so i'm guessing it's Epson+CreatorsUpdate=commit without release for some reason.
