Windows 10: msmpeng.exe

Seems like something has changed - new install/upgrade does not allow you disable msmpeng.exe the WinDefend service.

I've tried the SETTINGS/GP/Registry scenarios. But in task managger msmpeng is still running. I tried the deep registry

services dive to disable the windefend service. But now it is not allowed even when I take ownership of the registry key - cannot change 'start'. Any help on the issue appreciated.
