Windows 10: MSN Weather App suddenly showing advertising? Did it get hacked?

I have enjoyed the MSN Weather app for years; I even have a monitor dedicated to displaying the app. Suddenly today the UI has been rearranged and now it's showing advertising? What happened? Did the app get hacked?I'm thinking that the MSN Weather app got hacked because if you look at Microsoft's screenshots from the app web page there is no advertising:https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/msn-weather/9WZDNCRFJ3Q2Is Microsoft aware of this problem? Your MSN Weather App is not hacked.

Microsoft has recently updated the app to include advertising.

The ads are displayed in the form of a banner at the top of the app's home screen.

Never mind. Appears this is a known issue with no known fix.

Why on earth Microsoft would chose to scuttle an otherwise delightful app with advertising is beyond me, but given their lack of attention to the standing problems with Windows 11 I guess it's no surprise. What the heck's happened to Microsoft?

Goodbye MSN Weather app.
