Windows 10: Mstar usb driver

i have recently aquired a new satnav which has windows ce on it, when i try to connect to my pc i get this error "unknown usb device device descriptor request failed code 43, i assume i need a driver, but trying to find the correct one has been a nightmare, any help please, oh and i have already tryed the steps listed to fix this to no avail

Hi dave, yes it does have a mini USB port for charging and for when I need to update the maps, windows ce seems to be the underlying os for the satnav as when it powers on I have the satnav main application home screen, (settings, fm, calculator, navigation etc icons) I can quit from that down to the windows ce desktop, and after having a snoot around in connections is where I found the one called mstar usb connection. I can't help with brand name as there is nothing on the box or the device itself, there is a model number but that is just "Q8", so hence why I've been struggling to get it to connect

Method 1: Troubleshoot

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your USB. Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter

Method 2.

Try updating the latest USB devices from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to update the USB drivers:

a. Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.

b. Expand the USB driver.

c. Right-click on the USB and click on Update driver software.

d. Restart the computer and check.
