Windows 10: MSVCP100.dll not found

I'm trying to run Unigine Furmark a GPU stress testing tool under Windows 10 Professional. When I started it I got an error box that said MSVCP100.dll could not be found.


I looked up the error and found it was caused by not having MSVC++ Redistributable Runtime version 10 installed. I installed it. I confirmed that it was installed with Add and Remove Programs, and that Explorer could find MSVCP100.dll in C:\Windows\System32. I tried to run Furmark again and got the same error.


What could be wrong here?


There are 32 and 64-bit MSVC++ Runtime installers. Does that refer to the word size of the machine, or the client application? I installed the 64-bit version because I have a 64-bit machine, but if Furmark is a 32-bit program I don't think it is but I don't know would I have to install the 32-bit version?

The first method to try is to download msvcp100.dll inside Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package. Follow the steps:

• Go to Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC from Official Microsoft Download Center and click on
  Download;
  
• In case you have 64-bit OS, check on both of the versions (x64 and x86, it’s important!), if you have 32-bit OS – check on x86 only and download it to your machine;
  
• Run vc_redist.x86.exe at first, then — vc_redist.x64.exe;
  

After the installation, now you should see msvcp100.dll and other dll in folders C:\Windows\System32\ or C:\Windows\SysWOW64\.

That should help you to fix the issue.

Sometimes msvcp100.dll can be accidentally deleted by installation wizard of other app. Check if the file is located in the appropriate folder – C:\Windows\System32\ or C:\Windows\SysWOW64\.

Hello back TPU!

Yesterday I saw two files(msvcp100.dll and msvcr100.dll) in my C:\ disk folder. What does this mean? I know this two files should be in C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 or somewhere in C:\Windows but not in main disk folder. I deleted this files but files appeared again today. Is this a virus or maybe an application? How can I check this?

they are microsoft visual studio files, leave em alone.
