Windows 10: MSVCP140.DLL Error in Windows While starting PUBG

Hello MS Community!

I have some issues related to windows. I would love to explain this issue in brief with history of it.

I'm found of games and I have installed multiple games on my Gaming PC. My love for gaming is not new but I'm pro player of PUBG. Few days ago when I start PUBG on my PC it showed some error that states that "can't start this program msvcp140.dll is missing from your computer". After a lot of research on internet found multiple solutions regarding this issue.

• I tried reinstall MS Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015.
• Then I have found on internet that I have to reinstall game. I did that too. you can imagine that with a medium level internet speed how I downloaded the game again.
• After 2nd failure one of my friend suggested me that. I should use https://dll-file.com's client software. I downloaded that software and found that software is no more working and the service is not available.
• Again I didn't lose hope and tried copy paste MSVCP140.DLL from my brother's laptop. Out put was zero.
• Then I have found https://msvcp140dll.com and downloaded DLL file from there. They explained how to activate after downloading. I did the complete process and I don't now how but the error was gone.
• After few days, last night my PC again encounter the same error. My Question is will somebody provide me with permanent solution of this issue?

I have explained my problem with the sources I have used to resolve. if some one need to know about the copy-pasted file from other computer I will provide that file too. but I need solution. permanent solution .

Error: msvcp140.dll is missing when launching PUBG

Hi team,

I'm Asus laptop works on Windows 10 Home Edition (as far as I know), just two days ago, I downloaded the PUGB game.

Right after I launched that game, it just didn't run and work.

A message screen appears that says msvcp140.dll is missing. After going through different solutions over the internet, I follow this guide: How To Fix PUBG Error Cannot Find msvcp140.dll

Even after downloading this new file and replacing it with Old one, still, the game doesn't work.

Seems this problem is somewhat related to my operating system on my laptop.

If you have the correct file or alternate solution, share it.

Any help is appreciated!

We appreciate your effort on this. We understand that you get the error “msvcp140.dll is missing” when you launch PUBG, we will look into this for you. Ideally, we see this error message when files related to Visual C++ are missing or corrupt.



Follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps:



Method 1: Re-register the .dll file



We can try to re-register the .dll file and see if that resolves the issue. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows + S key together and type
   CMD.
   
2. Now right click on it and select Run
   as administrator.
   
3. Accept the UAC prompts.
   
4. Type in the following commands one by one and hit enter:
   regsvr32 msvcp140.dll
   
5. After the command is executed, restart the PC.

Method 2: Installing Visual C++ 2015



If Method 1 didn’t work, in this case we need to download and install Visual C++ on the computer and this will repair/replace all the corrupted or missing files.



You can download and install from
Visual C++ Redistributable 2015.

MSVCP140.dll

This occurs when the program you are trying to run requires the MSVCP140.dll file to be present on your computer system. MSVCP140.dll is a Microsoft C Runtime Library file of size around 626 KB, located in the System32 folder, and is installed by Microsoft
Visual Studio. If any DLL file goes missing or gets corrupted, you can see such error messages on your screen.

With that in mind, we'd like to know:

• Does it only affect a specific program?
• Were you able to launch this program before?
• Have you tried reinstalling the program?

If you have reinstalled the app the issue still persists, download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio
