  1. Multiple account Log-in attempts from unusual sources.

I recently just got an alert through my notifications on Gmail on IOS at around 2:30AM stating that my account had experienced some unusual activities. so I open the message up, still have complete access to everything so I got onto my PC. I check recent login activities and there was probably one for every hour for about a month now, with some being successful login but saying it was blocked because it was compromised and most of them not being successful. Some how they were able to change the phone number used and put a different one in but nothing else was changed. I did have 2 step verific

  2. Cannot Log In

    Hi,

Default user profile corruption is one of the reasons why you're unable to stay logged in on your device using the new account you've created. For us to effectively assist you in rectifying this unusual behavior, we'd like to confirm the following information:

    • Are you attempting to sign in with a local user profile or a Microsoft account?
    • Have you tried logging in with another profile (local or Microsoft account) to check if the same thing occurs?
    • Have you made any significant changes to your device or account prior to this happening?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far to resolve the issue?

    Your reply is greatly appreciated.

  3. Microsoft account unusual sign-in activity

Thank you for the reply. I have answered your questions in bold.

But I still fail to see why any of the questions/measures apply to my situation when Microsoft's "Review recent activity" log shows no "unusual sign-in activity" whatsoever. There are approximately 20 sessions showing on my activity log currently, and everyone
single one of them shows them to be: my computer, my IP address, my location, my operating system, my browser; all at times of the day when I was on my computer...

So unless Microsoft's "Review recent activity" page is inaccurate, where on earth is the "unusual sign-in activity" and why am I getting daily emails alerting me to something, that according to Microsoft's "recent activity" log, does not exist?

    Thanks for your continued help/efforts,

    SR

03/03/17: Update: and, FTR, I got the email again last night, 8 days in a row now. And once again, there is no "unusual sign-in activity" showing in my "recent activity" whatsoever.

Multiple account Log-in attempts from unusual sources.

Unusual prompt to reset Microsoft account password without any explanation.

    Hello Bee,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

You will be prompted with a message “It looks like someone else is using your account” because of the following reasons:

    • Someone actually tried to use your account.
    • You tried to sign in to your account from a different location or using a new device.
    • Multiple failed attempts to sign in.

More information is available on the Microsoft article:
What happens if there's an unusual sign-in to your account.
You can also go through the information provided on Microsoft
    account help

Regarding the second issue where you got a notification stating that there
is someone else using the laptop and their unsaved work might be lost if the laptop is shut down.

This kind of message will only occur if there is another user account on the same computer and they have logged on to their user account.

    Hope it helps.
