Windows 10: Multiple Accounts Compromised and Emails Changed; unable to recover

HELPI was just hacked today. A user most likely using a VPN Logged into my Email account and accessed my Microsoft Account which he was then able to completely delete all security measures, and change the passwords to 2 different accounts. When trying to log into my normal email, it goes as "Unrecognized", as the email he changed my account to was then deleted as well. I need to be able to get back into my account when both the email and password were changed. Whats weirder is the the security code emails for the email he changed it to were still sent to my original email. Nothing ive tried ha

You don't want that Microsoft account.

Once a user account has been compromised, the attacker will try to use the account and everything in it to impersonate you on the internet. You never want to have anything to do with that account, ever again.

Now you must work on protecting your identity. This includes, at a minimum:

• changing all your passwords;
  
• abandoning your email account(s) and getting new ones;
  
• alerting your banks and other financial institutions that your identity may be compromised;
  
• freezing your credit reports; and
  
• warning your contacts not to open mail from your old email addresses.
  

Going forward, be on the lookout for signs that your identity may have been stolen.

 

Windows Email Account Compromised

Hi,

unfortunately my Windows account email has been compromised.

The intruder was able to change the email and the password of the account, thus locking me out. Microsoft offers a manual procedure to recover access, but despite entering all the info that I can the team does not recognize me as the owner of the account.

The compromised email is still associated as Administrator of my main Windows 10 PC. Is it possible to have another account as administrator without having to format the PC/reinstall all the software?
