Windows 10: Multiple BSOD when system cold

Hi, I built a PC towards the end of 2018, for the last couple of months it has become unreliable with multiple BSOD.
The first happened using Faro Scene which is very RAM intensive point cloud software. I had 4 dimms for a total of 64GB. Memtest86 would fail with all 4 dimm slots occupied. I removed the XMP profile, putting it back to auto, updated BIOS and chipset drivers and the CPU is not overclocked. On further testing memtest86 would fail with slots A2 and B2 occupied, but seemed to be good with just slots A1and B1 occupied. it ran well with just the 2 sticks for a while.

I RMA'd the ram and received replacements, unfortunately this hasn't solved the issue. The BSOD are becoming more persistent with clock watchout timeout, kmode exception not handled, attempted to write to read only memory, unexpected kernel mode trap, whe uncorrectable error, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and some others.

I have now noticed that the BSOD appear to happen more often when the PC is cold. Once everything is up to temperature it looks to be pretty stable. This is with only 2 dimm slots occupied, I havent tried with 4. So lastnight I left my PC running and today so far no BSOD.

Any help digonising the issue would be appreciated.

BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE randomly after cold boot/sleep

For the past month I have been getting random BSOD's all with driver power state failure. They happen randomly, usually within the first 5-10 minutes of cold booting or waking my computer. Steps I have taken to attempt to fix the problem:

1. Reinstalled GPU drivers/ tried old drivers
2. Fresh installed Windows 1803, still happened, then fresh installed 1709
3. Disabled Fast Boot

None of these things fixed the issue, any help would be much appreciated at pinpointing the issue. Thanks

 

Windows 10: Issues with using Cold Turkey and getting error message "System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Cold Turkey\web\stats.pol' is denied.".

This issue might occur if there is change in app settings or app is not installed properly.



To assist you better, please provided us the information below:

• When you say that "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application", are you getting any error code along with the error message?
• When you say that "installed a productivity app on my laptop called Cold Turkey", have you downloaded the app from Windows Store?

I suggest you to follow the methods below to uninstall the app and then try to reinstall the app from Windows Store. Check if it helps.



Step 1: I recommend you to uninstall the
Cold Turkey from apps settings.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Then type "Settings" without the quotes in the search bar and click on it.

3. Click on System.

4. Click on Apps and features.

5. Search for Cold Turkey app and click on it.

6. Then click on Remove to uninstall the app.

Step 2: I suggest you to reinstall the Cold Turkey app from the Windows Store and check if it helps.

Memory Related BSOD Every Cold Boot

First let me list my specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming

CPU: i7 8700k @ stock

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 2133 MHz

GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080 TI

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO SSD (Windows Installed) 240GB

Seagate FireCuda 2TB HDD

Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD

I cannot find anyone to help me with this problem, so when the i7 8700k came out I bought a new motherboard, RAM and the CPU. But ever since i installed the parts I am now plagued with Memory Management and Kernel Security Check BSODs on cold boots only,
it will keep giving me these errors seconds after the PC boots for almost a dozen times and then itll be fine until the next cold boot, if I restart the PC it wont give me the BSOD.

Ive reinstalled Windows 2 times but nothing, and I have tested the RAM multiple times with no errors and the PC is fine in Safe Mode.

I think it may be driver related but I dont know where to look.
