  1. Multiple download issues in Windows 10 Windows Update/Microsoft Store/Windows 10 ver 2004

I am having various issues with downloads/updates from Microsoft, and can't help but think they are related:

    1. Windows Update - auto update has not worked properly for at least 6 months. When I run Windows Update from Settings, I get the dreaded "We couldn't connect to the update service" message. Instead, I've been updating my system using the Microsoft Update catalog...currently I'm on version 1909, build 18363.1049. I've already tried restarting Windows Update/BITS/Cryptographic Services in Services.msc, turned off Antivirus/Firewall, etc.
    2. Microsoft Store - No purchased apps will download...they all return the "0x80072F8F" error code. I've already tried the wsreset.exe suggestion. I just paid $90 for MS Flight Simulator 2020 Deluxe and upgraded my video card, and can't download any of it.
    3. Windows 10 upgrade to version 2004 May 2020 update - I've attempted this update several times, using the Windows Update Assistant. The update appears to be functioning normally, progressing toward completion with no errors. However, after I restart the computer, the computer is still showing version 1909.

Would appreciate any tips/suggestions to resolve, without having to do a full Windows 10 reinstall.

    Thanks,

    Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
