  1. Multiple entries of "Windows Driver Package - Intel" in Add/Remove Programs for Windows 11

Hello,I am a tech that is working with a user, and I am seeing something that I've never seen before. In Add/Remove Programs, there are multiple instances of "Windows Driver Package - INTEL system" and "Windows Driver Package - INTEL SDHost". Such of these appear to be duplicates, as they have the same version of the driver package. Is this normal to see something like this?Would this possibly cause any slowness issues? Is it safe to uninstall any duplicates?Model: Lenovo E590 ThinkpadOS: Windows 11 Pro x64Thank you!

    :)

Removing Windows Driver Package fails - list entry inconsistent

I have found the solution myself. Items in the driver package list are registry-based.

    1. Hit Windows Key+R
    2. Enter regedit + Enter
    3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Microsoft->IntuneManagementExtension->Inventories
This is where the list items are. Just searched for the string description in the driver list (FTDI CDM Driver Pack... in my case).

I am not sure whether this has further implications down the road, but I was able to remove the dead entries. After reinstalling the driver, I can use my hardware again.

Removing Windows Driver Package fails - list entry inconsistent

My driver package list contains two entries that cannot be removed because the underlying driver seem to be missing. I can reinstall these driver, but this two items remain unchanged. When clicking on Unistall, this message pops up:

I have tried to uninstall manually using dpinst-amd64.exe. But the file does not exist. Unfortunately reinstalling does not change the list item or letting me modify or remove. This issue prevents the (reinstalled) drivers to be loaded when connecting a USB device that requires this driver.

I tried to reinstall and rename the packages as mentioned in the error window, but the directory is (naturally) protected.

Is there a cleaning tool to update the driver package list?

This issue is mentioned in this Post but the solution does not work for me. Also it is mentioned here without an answer.

Startup error on discontinued Intel driver

    Hi David,

Windows 10 update remove the Intel WiDi driver due to compatibility issue. We suggest uninstalling the Intel WiDi driver from Control Panel to avoid it from showing up every time you start your computer. To do this, kindly follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X on your keyboard.
    • Select Control Panel.
    • Click Programs.
    • Choose Programs and Features.
    • Click Intel (R) WiDi Driver and hit Uninstall.
    • Restart your computer.

    Let us know goes.
