Windows 10: Multiple Issues when attempting to Restore backup to new laptop

Hello, Just to preface all this I'm not very savvy with code & etc in fact it can scare me sometimes .I'm attempting to download saved image, settings & files from my old laptop ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 to my new one ASUS ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition. I used this guide to back up image, settings & files from my old laptop: How to create full backup of your Windows 11 PC Windows Central. I used my Seagate One Touch HDD, 5TB to do this. It's been partitioned to hold files for both my Mac & PC working. The partition my W11 backups are in is called Windows Backup D:. T

sorry abought getting back to you. I have a backup setup every Sunday at 11pm. last successful backup was in January, error ( backup volume inaccessible ) error code ( 0x807800c5 ) the laptop new with win 8, upgraded to 8.1 then 10

 

Backup from Win 10 old laptop restore to new Win11 laptop

I want to buy a new laptop with win 11. QUESTION: Can I do a backup from my old win10 laptop and THEN restore into my new win 11 laptop? Could you please give all the steps? Thank you from friends.

 

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect


In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.

1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination
   
   
   
4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
5. Boot up with your new HD.
