Windows 10: Multiple Microsoft Accounts and Windows 10

Hi


I have two Microsoft accounts, one set up by PC Knowhow when I first bought my laptop let's call this account 1 and one which is the one I use for everything account 2. Account 1 is the one which had the digital version of Windows 10 attached to it originally. I never understood why they felt the need to set up a completely new account with a different email address, but I won't be asking them to set up any laptops again!


I have taken Account 1 off my laptop as everything else is set up under Account 2, including all devices and my family set up with other users, as well as Office 365.


Questions:

1. Is this causing issues? I now have no storage left on my laptop which means I can't do any Windows updates and it states that 'Other Users' is using 45gb of storage. When I've reviewed the users, they're not using anything like this amount, which makes me wonder if having account 1 and 2 on the laptop has caused duplication somehow? I can't find anything relating to Account 1 on the laptop though??

I've tried everything I can to remove any unwanted/unnecessary files and I'm still completely out of storage.

2. I want to have everything under one account Account 2 - can I merge my accounts?

3. Is my digital version of Windows 10 only attached to Account 1? The same laptop is attached to both accounts, but I do have additional users on Account 2 and devices which aren't on Account 1. If Windows 10 is attached only to Account 1, if I closed Account 1 to try and resolve duplication issues with users, would I lose access to Windows 10 on Account 2?

Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown
