  1. Multiple monitors, same resolution, different sizes!

I use my laptop with an external monitor. My external monitor is 32", while my laptop's screen is 14". Naturally, the laptop is positioned much lower than the larger monitor.Unfortunately, since Windows considers the resolution rather than the size of the monitors, transitioning the mouse between the two screens is quite awkward and results in jumps. It also causes weird broken looks while carrying windows between the monitors.Even if I get into the Windows settings and set the laptop's monitor to a lower position, it's not possible to ensure a smooth transition because Windows cannot detect t

Multi-monitor set up with different sizes and resolutions?

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you see a different setup of monitors in the multiple displays section.

I would like to inform that the multiple display section will show the monitor setup as per the screen resolution you are using instead of the actual size of the monitors.

Since, you are using a screen resolution 1920 X 1080 for
Monitor 1 and 1680 X 1050 for Monitor 2 that is the reason you see a size difference in the multiple display section.

Let us know if you need any further assistance, we will be glad to help you further.

    Regards,

    Dual Monitors Different "Sizes"

I have two 27" monitors that are are of the same physical size but of different resolutions - 1080p and 1440p. These are being run through an RTX3060Ti so max resolution supported is 7680x4320, way above what I am displaying.

When I open display and set them to their native resolutions they show as different size boxes. This creates two main issues for me:

    1. Screen alignment is out. With the digital tops aligned the digital bottom of the 1080p monitor is roughly 1/4 up from the digital bottom of the 1440p. The physical top and bottom are in line.
    2. Dual screen background pictures are all sorts of misaligned/scaled
Ignoring my portrait reading monitor on the right, I am referring to Displays 3 & 1.

Am I missing a setting here or doing something silly as I cannot seem to get these to align short of changing monitor 1 to 1080p (then they all size correctly)

Multi-monitor set up with different sizes and resolutions?

    Hi Nikhar,

Thanks, I am clearly aware of that the monitor manager sizes monitors according to resolution. What I need is an option
not to do so. When moving the cursor through different monitors, or sizing a window over several monitors, it doesn't make sense.

    Does such an option exist?

    Thanks,

    Henrik.
