On a new computer build, every once in a while about every couple of hours, all 3 monitors connected to my PC go black for a moment about 1-2 seconds, then come back on as if nothing happened. It's similar to the sort of blink I would expect if a new display driver were being installed, but none of the windows resize. I have looked at Task Manager immediately after this happens and don't see anything running that looks like an installer, so I don't think it is a driver update issue, plus it keeps happening, where a driver update should only be once a month or so. Device manager lists no un

      settings
      .

    • Click on the taskbar option.

    • Under Multiple displays you can turn off the option for
      Show taskbar on all displays.

  3. Issues while installing a second monitor in Windows 10

Really? I get a canned answer and nothing else? I posted that I had tried everything that I could find posted online. I did read the post that Andre suggested multiple times prior to posting this request for help. None of it helped.

My computer does not recognize that there is a second monitor is plugged in. The small step of changing the settings so I can put stuff on the second monitor ISN'T the issue. I am not that dumb. in the device manager there is only the single monitor listed
at one point there was a unknown device listed but my computer did not know if it was a monitor or a printer.

There has to be someone out there that knows how to fix this

    Please Help

    second monitor

    Hi Pauline,

Some of the advantages of having multiple screens (dual monitor) are it increases your productivity or it allows you to do multitasking. When awaking your PC after putting it to sleep, it will be directed at the sign in page. Normally,
the second monitor will just reflect black screen and the main monitor will reflect the sign in page. After signing in, your second monitor will automatically open if it is turned on.

If the second monitor doesn’t turn on, we recommend that you run the Power troubleshooter by following these steps:

    • Click the Start button, then type Control Panel and then press
      Enter.
    • Change the View by option on the top-right to Large icons.
    • Click on Troubleshooting, and click on the View all option on the left pane.
    • Run the Power troubleshooter.

If the issue persists, kindly refer to the resolution provided by
    breadbox88 in this
    thread
and check if it will help you with the issue.

Let us know how it goes.
