    I think this all relates to the 1909 upgrade but have reverted to 1903 and the problems persist.

    Problem 1. My Epson XP-720 printer is now listed as a "Device" and as such will not print unless I load the print queue and then restart the computer.

    Problem 2. The computer will not restart from Windows Restart, even after an upgrade. The screen goes black although the monitor power light is out, indicating things are happening. The only way to get going again is to shut down and restart via the power button.

    Problem 3. The bios is set to restart via USB activity after sleep. This does not work any more.

    Problem 4. I have an external USB 3.0 drive connected via a USB 'C' socket. This drive, or any drive attached, will work after a reboot but disconnect and reconnect and it is not recognised. This happens with any of three external drives so is unlikely to be a drive problem.

    Problem 5. Going into "Control Panel", "Administrative tools", "Computer Management" then "Disk Management" causes the file explorer to be "Not responding" and I can't close it without rebooting. "End task" in Task Manager has no effect.


    What am I running.

    Windows 10 1903. MSI X370 SLI plus mother board. Rizen 3 1300x microprocessor with 16gb ddr4 ram.

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled the full suit of Epson drivers and software.

    I have reinstalled, from the original disk, the drivers and other software pertaining to the mother board.

    I have also reset the bios to factory defaults.

    I have been running this same configuration for a couple of years without any trouble.

    I have removed and cleaned the ram, all fans are clean and running.

    I have run virus scans and malware bytes with nothing but a few PUPs found and quarantined.

    I have not removed and reseated the cpu but if that were a problem I don't think the infernal machine would go at all.

    I do not run any games on this machine.

    I do have a spare power supply but doubt that is the source of these problems.


    Having been in the service industry in the past I am inclined to think there must be a common cause for all of this but despite my best efforts I am stumped.


    If any screen dumps or other information is required I am more than happy to provide any, or all, info needed.


    My immense thanks to anyone who can help sort out this mess.

    Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...


    That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

    I suggest Option 1 is easier.

    If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check:

    • Type mail in the search box to open mail app.
    • click on the folder from which you want to delete multiple emails.
    • click on enter selection mode in the search
      area.
    • click on multiple emails and click on delete.

    Multiple problems

    Need some advice on computer problems.

    Run HDtune (free version) on you hard drive. but most likely that the problem. You can also test your memory with Memtest86 as suggested above
