Windows 10: Multiple Windows functions stopped working

Greetings to all of you,


I was simply changing the ownership of Local Disk C to my current user account, in order to grant myself all the permissions I need although the account is ADMIN type, but since an update occured a lot of months ago, my admin privileges got damaged, also Microsoft Store and Windows update, but I got it and didn't show any more interest in solving the problem, as none of the solutions found worked.


Now, the problem is that all the services related to Windows stopped working after the ownership transfer finished. Therefore, now I cannot:

• access Start Menu;

• access Search Bar;

• open certain settings, like "Add new user on this computer" it works via Groups & Local users settings, but not anymore via regular settings;

• view any picture, because "the app didn't start";

• there may be many more things affected, but I didn't try them all.


At the beginning, I tried to use Powershell and Cmd. Prompt both with admin privileges, but none worked. I tried other complicated stuff found on the internet. Again, nothing worked, as there might not be the same situations as the one I'm in now.


Therefore, I am here to ask the community for opinions regarding the case.

Sennheiser GSP 350. Microphone stops working when I open any game

Wow, ok. I think I've fixed it by accident while fiddling around.

It appears to be the Realtek audio being the issue here. I don't use my onboard sound card as my headset is a USB headset only and my speakers are plugged into an ASUS sound card.

Step by step fix:

• I went into recording devices
• I enabled STEREO MIX (Realtek High Definition Audio)
• Then I set that Stereo Mix as the DEFAULT DEVICE (At this point it took over both input and output devices without my permission )
• Then set my Sennheiser headset as default recording and playback devices in their respective windows even though they both still said they were the default devices when they weren't

Headset microphone is currently functioning while in game now. I'll update the thread if it goes again. Should I completely disable Realtek audio??? Or will windows just force it to work again?

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
